Patrick Beaver Learning Resource Center wants to make sure students with dyslexia get the support and help they need to read and succeed in school.  We train classroom teachers in the Orton-Gillingham approach, a method proven to help students with dyslexia and beneficial to all students.

On August 8-12, 2016, Patrick Beaver Learning Resource Center hosted its first Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator Training led by Alice Rullman and Reba Walden, Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practioners and Educators fellows, for 18 teachers in Catawba County.  Six teachers were trained from St. Stephens Elementary, Oakwood Elementary, and North Newton Elementary.

We plan to continue offering this training each summer.  If you are a teacher interested in pursuing this training in August 2017, please email our office at info@patrickbeaverlrc.org.
